Manchester City's hearing over alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules has ended, and a verdict is now imminent.

According to Mail Sport, court proceedings ended on Friday as scheduled, following almost three months of heated debate about City's financial conduct over a 14-year period. The hearing started on September 16 and now it all comes down to the verdict of a three-man panel currently considering evidence.

The trial, which was staged at London’s International Dispute Resolution Centre and has been extremely secretive, has seen the Manchester club fight against 115 charges of breaching financial rules. These breaches vary from not providing accurate financial information about payments made to players and managers to breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and continually failing to comply with the Premier League's investigations into their activity.

City are battling against rule breaches which reportedly took place across a 14-year period, from the 2009-10 season until February 2023, when the Premier League's case against them was eventually brought to light. The original 115 charges revealed at this point have since been extended to a potential total of 130 charges – this was due to an administration issue.

City's hearing may be over but the bad news is that the saga is still set to drag on for months. Reports suggest that an outcome will be revealed in February 2025, with the three-man panel taking their time to work through the evidence presented over the last few weeks. By the time the verdict is revealed it may have been two years since the charges were first brought to City.
