Manchester City might be romping away with the Premier League title as it stands, but there are always things which could have gone better or be done differently at any club.
Despite trophies and a host of big name signings, the club are still struggling to bring on many young players, and despite the emergence of Phil Foden, it’s all too apparent that the club want to win now rather than give talent the chance to develop.
We have seen similar with Jadon Sancho, who is now thriving at Dortmund and with England, and one other player who City will surely have regrets over is Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks.
The Welsh ace was allowed to depart the Etihad as a teenager, and soon became a star at Sheffield United, before earning his move to the Cherries in a big money deal during the summer.
Brooks looks a class act, and is already being widely tipped for another move in the not too distant future if he can maintain his current form.
Wales manager Ryan Giggs also appears to have plenty of faith in Brooks, while his manager at Bournemouth Eddie Howe has ensured he is a regular fixture in the Cherries XI.
Brooks is simply brilliant on his day, and it’s City’s loss that he is now playing with another Premier League outfit.
While Pep Guardiola won’t be too fussed, it would have been interesting to see a player like Brooks in with the City squad and develop under a manager like Pep. Only time will tell, but there is a growing feeling that City might have just let another one slip that they shouldn’t have.
City fans, what do you thnk? Agree? Let us know in the comments!
