It was a disappointing afternoon for Crystal Palace and Roy Hodgson on Saturday against Everton.
With 35 minutes left, the Eagles were level with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and they looked like they may be able to get something from the match. However, in the end, they ended up losing 3-1 due to goals from Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the second half.

The Palace supporters were far from happy with the display, and it seems that Gary Cahill was one of the main culprits in their eyes. Many slammed the 6 foot 4 defender for his showing.
It wasn’t the best day at the office for the 61-time England international. The 6.0 SofaScore rating he picked up was the worst of anyone on the pitch, whilst he also won just six of the 17 duels he took part in.
Some fans believe that he is finished at the top level.
The 34-year-old has had a great career in the top flight – he even has two Premier League titles to his name during his time at Chelsea, as well as a Champions League medal – but it does seem that his time at the top is coming to an end. It just goes to show how desperate the supporters are that they would rather play Cheikhou Kouyate, a defensive midfielder, at centre-back instead.
One fan, meanwhile, has blamed him directly for at least two of the goals.
You can’t really fault his opinion. For the Richarlison strike, in particular, he gave the Brazil international far too much time to slot past Vicente Guaita in the Palace goal.
