Kaka could be in line for a shock January move to Chelsea, according to reports in The Mirror. The Real Madrid midfielder signed from AC Milan for around £59m only two years ago but injuries and temperamental form have made it hard for the Brazilian to cement a place in Jose Mourinho’s team.
Real Madrid, who currently pay Kaka around £8m per year, are thought to be keen to offload some of their players in order to create space for the five signings they announced that they intended to make last week. This list included players such as Jack Wilshere, Eden Hazard and Mario Gotze all of whom can play in similar positions to Kaka.
The media was first alerted to the possible move of Kaka by a tweet from his mother however he was linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham in the summer. However Real Madrid are keen to recoup some of their losses on the midfielder and will not be selling him on the cheap. A fee of around £30m is expected to be the asking price.
Having shown interest in the past Real Madrid have identified Chelsea as a potential suitor and with their poor form continuing and their failure to land Luka Modric in the Summer the Brazilian former Ballon d’Or winner could be the ideal signing.
