Tottenham Hotspur caused quite a stir earlier this week by launching an appeal to have Christian Eriksen’s goal handed to Harry Kane.
The England international insisted that he got a touch on the ball before it made its way into the net during Spurs’ 2-1 victory over Stoke City last weekend.
The Premier League confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that Kane has been awarded the goal after reviewing footage of the game.
This means that the 24-year-old now has a tally of 25, which is four fewer than Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who is leading the race for the Golden Boot.

The Egyptian international, who recently scored two crucial goals against Manchester City to help the Reds reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, appeared to be left baffled by the decision to award Kane the goal.
The 25-year-old let his feelings known on Twitter, and it is safe to say that not many Tottenham fans were best pleased with the Liverpool star’s reaction.
