According to The Sun’s Live Transfer Blog (09/08), West Brom have bid £5m for Leeds United right-back Luke Ayling, and Whites fans on Twitter have been fuming with the offer.
The 26-year-old proved in Leeds’ opening game victory over Stoke that he would be crucial for new boss Marcelo Bielsa’s high press system. New signing Barry Douglas at left-back and Ayling at right-back provided an attacking threat and quality deliveries from wide positions.
The Englishman signed for Leeds in the summer of 2016 from Bristol City and his long absence with an injury last season coincided with some of the Whites’ worst form of the campaign, further proving his worth to the team.
Leeds fans on Twitter were offended by the low offer from West Brom, who are looking to take Ayling after securing just one point from their opening two games in the Championship.
