[ad_pod ]Asking footballers to create their dream five-a-side team made up exclusively of players they’ve shared the pitch with is quite a popular video concept these days.In recent weeks we’ve seen Jorginho put together a simply baffling team, and Erik Lamela make a striking choice that would have infuriated the Tottenham fanbase. This time it’s Phil Jagielka’s turn to pick his side, and in complete contrast to Lamela’s picks – his team will delight his current fanbase.
In goal, he’s opted to select Tim Howard.
At the back it’s pretty standard stuff from Jags. He chooses two supremely talented full-backs who he played with at Everton – Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman.
The midfield is a bit more outlandish as he picks his former Blades teammate Nick Montgomery, despite having played for England alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
However, that isn’t the one that will have Everton and Sheffield United fans talking.
The former England international has a plethora of incredible attacking talent to choose from up top. Does he pick England’s all-time top goalscorer, Wayne Rooney? Or does he go for another man who has scored over 100 Premier League goals, Romelu Lukaku?
In the end, he didn’t choose either of those stars. Instead, he went for Sheffield’s own Billy Sharp.
It’s hard to agree with Jagielka’s choice if we’re being totally honest, but try telling that to the Bramall Lane faithful.
