RANGERS QUOTES
Philippe Clement was a proud but extremely frustrated Rangers Manager as he reflected on a League Cup Final that was so near yet so far.
“Football can be an amazing game – but it can also be very cruel. I think we deserved more today, creating more chances than our opponents and twice coming back when behind before losing on penalties at the end. We gave everything.”

A controversial non-penalty award in extra-time was uppermost in his thinking.
“Also – my phone is overloaded with comments regarding the penalty that we were denied. That also was a decisive moment in the game. I do not understand why there was no communication from VAR. It should have been a penalty- it was an indecisive decision.”
The Ibrox Boss did however also pay tribute to his team.
“That is a situation I cannot control – I am focused on my team. My team gave everything on Thursday against Tottenham and they gave everything today for the club. I’m really proud of the way they played and their energy. We’re getting better and better.
“It was a really good game and a good advert for Scottish Football – but of course you want to win the trophy.”
Clement also defended Ridvan Yilmaz, who missed the crucial spot-kick.
“He took responsibility to take a penalty.”
