Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has sent a short, but sweet, reply to the Red Devils’ announcement that they have agreed a deal with Sporting CP to sign Bruno Fernandes.
United have long been linked with a move for the Portugal international, with reports last summer even intimating their interest. However, whilst a deal failed to materialise before the end of the deadline, it appears the Red Devils have still been intent on getting their man.
And after suggestions that talks had hit a snag earlier this month over Sporting’s valuation of the midfielder, United have finally made the all-important breakthrough. As the club announcement outlines, subject to a medical and agreeing of personal terms, Fernandes will finally be wearing a Red Devils shirt.
Quickfire Quiz: How much do you know about Man Utd’s history in the January transfer window?
Having had to see Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira combine for a measly total of five assists in 61 games this season, Rashford will no doubt be delighted at Fernandes’ impending arrival. The Portuguese ace has 14 assists to his name, and so the England international will relish having a truly elite attacking midfielder to play alongside him.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans swoon over this star’s display against Manchester City.
